So, the first time I turned on my PS3 in a few days I did four fights in Street Fighter 4. The first match was against a guy who played as Blanka who did the same roll attack over and over again. When he didn’t do that he did the electricity move. The second match was against Sagat which was a combination if Tiger fireballs and Tiger Knees. The third match was against M.Bison who continued to do the same aerial stomp move and the final one was against Zangief where the Whirlwind attack was all that was done.
I posted on PS3 fanboy when the tournament mode was given a release date regarding people who spam the same amount of moves and how they should be pointed out like disconnectors would be. It was a response to the fact that they documented disconnects to show people who would be guilty of leaving a game they know they’d lose. While that was great and all, I later found out it’s disconnects in general … so if you have an honest-to-goodness bad connection and it’s lost … it goes on your record. And the three people who disconnected in a game with me seemed to just have a poor connection.
Anyways, the response was that I needed to learn how to play and how to successfully counter those moves. That’s a legit point to a certain extent but the fact that spammers aren’t necessarily called out like disconnecters will still make it possible for people who spam the same move over and over again to continue doin what they’re doing.

So, clearly not learning my lesson from Killzone 2, I picked up Street Fighter 4 last night. However, the mentality behind it involved the fact that I had birthday money and if I put it in the bank it would go to bills. So when I went to Wal-Mart, I picked up Bioshock and Street Fighter 4.
Outside of the disappointment that was SSF2THDR, Street Fighter 4 was the first fighter that I picked up for myself. All the other ones were for my wife. There was something that I liked about Street Fighter 4 and I wasn’t sure what. Originally it was going to be a rental, but I figured that this was my birthday money, so I’d buy it on a game that I technically wanted.
And while Street Fighter 4 may not be my renaissance of gaming, it does show promise.

… Turbo High-definition Remix. What a long name that is. Why couldn’t they just call it Super Street Fighter 2 Remixed? It’s one of the few times where even the acronym of the name is too long. Anyways, this is a game I have been looking forward to since I heard about it – I sure do say that alot don’t I?

Anyways, for me it was going to be a great trip to the past … back when I was about 11 or 12 and I opened up my Super Nintendo with Street Fighter 2 and Home Alone as well. And how the game had eaten up hours of my time and had given me ideas on how to make little tournaments with my friends before the game had actual tournaments. Now, this game had new music, updated graphics and it had online play, so this was going to be a steal at $15!
Well, I guess you can kind of say that …
